Initially the health option displayed that it could not find a battery. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down.So I then ran the most current BIOS from Dell for my computer. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down.
Thanks for advice I was able to do the health check, the actual steps were a little different than the manual you sent.
- If it doesn't work try booting up your laptop without its battery and see if it will boot up or not.
- Next is to reseat the RAM's, remove all the RAM's for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly.
- If all these will not work the problem is the motherboard.
Laptop batteries have a rated life of 500 charges or 18 months.
